Here's the pistol I got today:

Sig P220 carry. Single action only like a 1911 and it has the SAS (Sig Anti Snag) treatment- basically the frame has no light rail and the slide is smoothened.

First thoughts on it? Love my S&W M&P Shield 9. Have thoughts to in the back of my mind to sell for a profit. My brother has seen that they are going used more than New MSRP since they aren't satisifying demand.

I was luckily, I happened to call the first store in Town that got them, who were open on a Sunday, I got the only two they had...w as only planning on one for the wife when I went. During checkout a few people had asked for them too, seemed slightly put out when the guy said "we just got them....and they sold to these people". Made me feel good About my purchase :P

This is what I wrote on another site-

I was able to pick up this pistol from the dealer this morning. Came back home and cleaned/lubed it and made some lunch with the intention of shooting it tomorrow as I had chores to do today. Well I got antsy and brought it to the range this afternoon. My apartment can wait another day to be cleaned!

First off, I did previously own a P220R Carry SAO that I bought in 2009 and sold a year later. It had some feeding issues that eventually seemed to be fixed by Sig but I did not keep it. Compared to that pistol, this one now has the external extractor compared to the internal one on my last Carry (if memory serves there was some speculation that the internal extractor was causing some of the feed issues on those pistols back then). Also, the grips are much smoother- my last one had fairly aggressively textured grips that I really liked, these are smooth and don't work as well as I'd like. I may see if the old style is available and compatible with this one.

Anyhow, on to the range. I shot about 200 rounds today, most of which was the Remington UMC I bought for the last Carry and it never seemed to feed well. Also ran through maybe 20-30 rounds of WWB and one mag worth of some Cor Bon +P JHPs I found in a "loose round" box in the back of the safe. The gun shoots great overall. The trigger reset seems a bit long but I have been shooting my Glock heavily the past few months so I am probably just used to that. When I did not allow the trigger to reset and I tried to fire I realized I still have a flinch I need to get rid of but overall I did okay.

So the UMC didn't feed well in the old gun,or the new one also? Assuming the old one. I ran 150 through my Wifes shield without a hitch.

I doubt your flinch was as bad as the guy I shot next too at the range last time. The guy seemed scared of his XD9. He was absolutely terrified of the sound of my XD45. anytime my wife or I shot it, he got to the point he just sat down and waited until we were reloading or started with our 9's again.

Dear Lord, please don't ever let that get in a situation where the guy Has to use his gun anywhere but a range.

No, this gun ate everything I fed it. I used to shoot much more often, I'm just trying to get back to where I used to be or close to it. Like I said, the longer reset was what messed me up the most.

We had a low of 7F last night, when I hopped in the truck this evening to go to the store it didn't fire up as quick as usual. I'm going to hope it's just that everything's cold and not that the SuperStart battery that came with the truck is dying. Cranked up some tunes and cruised.

I'm glad it doesn't get that cold here. Temps dropped by 10 degrees here and my back was killing me. Coldest I had my truck was 18F
