What did you do with your truck/shop today

Hit 66666 miles. (need to update my sig) Love the new used truck. Came up with a list of things I'm going to do for the truck over the next year

1. New Weather Tech or Husky Liners Floor mats for front and back.

2. New seat covers- GM's cloth seats attract hair/dog hair very nicely, and are not easy to vacuum out! It's a no win situation.. GM's leather sucks and needs to be replaced by 60,000 miles.. & the cloth seats suck! (though they are comfty)

3. New Tires and alignment

4. New brakes & brake flush

5. Front, Rear Diff service, & transfer case service

6. Transmission flush & filter change

7. Power Steering flush/fluid change

8. K&N CAI

9. Figure out if the spray-in bed liner is a Line-X or Rhino and take over to local dealer to see if they'll do some warranty work on the spray in. It's in pretty poor shape from the fuel tank & Pump and tool boxes the previous owner kept in the back.

10. Install hideaway emergency lighting & radio systems for use on call outs and special events for the volunteer emergency services team I am on, in addition to Amateur Radio special operations call outs here in the Mountains of Colorado.

11. Look into getting a topper for the long bed.

Enough to keep me busy? I should say so.

If it's Rhino, it should have a badge saying so up at the front of the box. If you have a rollup tonneau, it may be hiding it.

Rhino-Liner is pretty stout stuff. It's been in the back of my Silverado for 9 years now, and has been doused with acetone, oil, paint thinner, countless pieces of lawn equipment, tools, floor jacks, compressors, lumber, construction debris, metal, and an airborne 550 lb. coal stove that bashed in the bed, but didn't even touch the liner!

My tailgate gets used as a workbench daily for small power equipment repairs. Still holding up! They laid it on pretty thick too - not sure if the newer procedures use as much product. Seems everyone has cheaped-out on everything lately.

But, even the best liner ain't worth s*** if it wasn't prepped right ...

Yes, it's RWD.

And too bad I wasted so much time trying to self diagnose the problem but I can't help it, I couldn't just give up and not try at all. At least I got front tie rod ends and a center support bearing out of it. lol

I took the truck for a ride to bed the new brake pads. Went by my future in law's with the Fiancé so she could get her mail, and when I pulled in my ABS kicked in and the light came on in the dash. Got out, and checked things over but I didn't find anything wrong. Drove home.

It was only doing it when I had the wheels turned all the way to the left. So I looked it over again at home. The braided line on the drivers side was a little loose where it bolts to the caliper. I could hear it hissing when I put my socket on it, and it had some fluid laying around it. Tightened it up, and so far so good.

I'd check your wheel bearings. I had about the same scenario with mine. It was when I was pulling into a parking spot the ABS would engage. Found out the bearing had enough slop to make the ABS sensor not be able to read the teeth on the bearing and thought I was skidding out of control......at 4mph. New bearings....no problem ever since!

Looks like I'll check that over then. Thanks for the tip.

Think I'm just gonna give up on keeping the truck pretty. Was trying to get my air hose over something and when I flicked it up the socket came off the impact and hit my door, fml. I swear, worst luck ever

My truck is all scratched up from my forsythia bushes (got a big white one, right through the clear coat & part of the base .. from a friggin BUSH), and me walking past it with weedwackers and chainsaws, or trying to squeeze motorcycles past it. Got a nice ding on the bed from just barely tapping it with a weedwacker.

Used to have someone detail it for me every spring. Now I couldn't care less.

I swear my truck's body made of beer cans ...

I painted my SnapOn 13/16 impact socket a bit ago. I spend about 10 minutes looking for it every time i need it. This should help

Only on the few "go-to" tools. Like this is for lug nuts.
