Drove the truck to my Great Uncle's place to do some clay pigeon shooting.

Found a match for our patio rock and hour away from the house.

Loaded 800 # of it plus 250# of crew. Truck rode well. 18mpg hwy. no blown shocks, this better than my last experiance hauling.

Will get some more rock next time I'm down in Santa Rosa.

Had to make one more lumber yard run for 5 more sheets of plywood a couple days back - porch roof deck was worse than I thought once I stripped the old roof off.

 

Making progress though. Got all the edge metal on & capped. All seams sealed, and 2 of them capped.

 

Day 5 starts now. Just have to reinstall siding, and put a cap sheet on one last seam, them I'm DONE. Finally! Been putting this off for 13 years, lol.

Ordered a new windshield to be installed tomorrow. I went with a Fuyao over a Pilkington and saved about $20.

I was going to top off the front diff but last night decided to just go ahead and change the fluid. Took the skid plate off and scrapped 20lbs of mud/sand off of it and then drained the diff. Had some shavings on the plug, I attribute that to the previous owner's neglect of maintenance. I changed the fluid when I first got it, it was not healthy looking fluid then so now hopefully the diff is a little happier getting a flush and fill again. Also started taking measurements to get a splash guard fabricated. It'll be nice to have a splash guard to help keep the underside a little cleaner.

Ordered new latches for the tailgate from Amazon, $41 for the pair. Suppose to be in next week. The challenge will be to install the things.

Shouldn't be too bad, seeing you're from GA. Up here, they usually either rot completely off, or the bolt is so rusted you strip the Torx splines right out of them.

 

My '94 S10 plow truck's tailgate is held on only buy the upper locking mechanism ... Cutting torch is the only way what's left of them will come out.
