What did you do with your truck/shop today

Phoenix and surrounding areas are as flat as flat can be. Northern AZ is a different story, however - you're at 5k feet in less than an hour's drive.

I've got a heavy foot too, but that's some bad mileage there!

This morning I filled up with 91 at $3.08. Hand calculated mpg for the last tank was 12.4, up from the previous 11.7.

This past tank did include a bottle of a fuel system cleaner, the valve cover gaskets and fresh oil for the last half of the tank. Driving conditions were relatively similar with mixed highway and street.

I should probably be easier on the throttle for at least one tankfull to see what I'm missing out on in economy.

Dang. With a heavy foot, 4.88's, and 37's I'm getting 11mpg

Do you have to pay through IFTA? It always costs me more to buy fuel(for a semi) in Indiana or Kentucky due to the surcharge vs buying straight out in IL or OH.

All the campers haulers do this. Company has a DOT number but trucks are leased on and registered 26k. I don't know if company gets bill for the added tax. They don't tell us we can't buy it like that.

http://www.autoblog.com/2013/05/09/2014-chevy-silverado-review-first-drive/

Article mentions 16 city and 22 highway for the K2, and while I couldn't find which diff ratio they used I'm willing to bet it was the 3.23.

3.23 is a 2wd only gear. 4wd gears include 3.08, 3.42, and 3.73

I manage 15-16 around here. That's diluted ethanol, basically (supposed to be 10%, but it's whatever they can get away with without getting caught - I've seen over 20% on scan tool) - what this state forces everyone to buy. No alternatives here.

On a trip out west I managed 18 mpg at 94 MPH, with my wife, an '84 Honda XL350R, tools, extra gas, and all our camping gear. Lack of ethanol makes a HUGE difference - not just in MPG's but in power too. Feels like a new engine whenever I GTFO of this hellhole ...

Ordered the majority of needed parts to repair the failed AFM/DOD lifter and delete said AFM/DOD. Blackbear efiLive v2, AFM delete kit, cam, timing chain, ls2 chain damper, etc. A little over $2,200. Still a few more parts to aquire : water pump, oil pump, etc.

Changed my oil filter last night, seemed pointless to change the oil itself as I'm still leaking quite a bit. Also looked over the engine real good to see what exactly is leaking. So far it's looking like my oil pan and possibly the rear main seal is leaking. My next step is to clean the engine real good and try to verify the leak sources.
