Aha! That explains it. Never knew Bakersfield got that hot! I've forgotten how far south that place is - I've only been close to the place driving on Hwy.5. For some reason I was picturing it closer to Sacramento. Been a long time since I've been down that way.

Man, I'd trade our salty roads, sub-freezing winter temps, & rust for 100° plus temps ANY day ... :D

Get a break this week. It will only break 100 twice.

HA! Nice.

We've been in the upper 80's most of the week ... but the difference is, the dewpoint has been 76° a couple times - tropical, sticky humidity. I miss the dry west - 115° in Phoenix was more tolerable than dewpoints in the upper 70's. Night and day feel.

Drove it in and out of garage while the installers finished my new HVAC system.

Finally.....gave me the rebate form but not the info I needed to fill it out.

Had to contact salseman again. Been 4 or 5 oops now, they are worried about my review I think. Nice guys, do the job right from what I can see, but geez, a lot of miscommunication in that company.

This morning I filled up with 91 at $3.08. Hand calculated mpg for the last tank was 12.4, up from the previous 11.7.

This past tank did include a bottle of a fuel system cleaner, the valve cover gaskets and fresh oil for the last half of the tank. Driving conditions were relatively similar with mixed highway and street.

I should probably be easier on the throttle for at least one tankfull to see what I'm missing out on in economy.

Bought 95.5 gallons of diesel in Indy @ 2.18 a gallon. $208.10

Do you have to pay through IFTA? It always costs me more to buy fuel(for a semi) in Indiana or Kentucky due to the surcharge vs buying straight out in IL or OH.

You probably have a lot of hills to compensate for in AZ?

Filled mine up yesterday & the tank avg was 18.4 with a 2013 6.2L. Mixed driving, but flat prairies in IL. That 18 is one of the best tank avg the thing has ever got.

We don't have too many hills around here but I tend to have a heavy foot.
