I replaced that front plastic piece with a metal one when I had my '99. It was nice knowing she was a bit more protected from road hazards. As for the truck today, just a drive in the rain.

Did a guy on the forum make it? I know he was at one time never did pick one up.

I am going to bedliner the one I bought hopefully sound deaden debris hitting it.

I believe last I saw diesel and mid grade (89) were the same price around here. I don't NEED a diesel, it's just a strong desire. Plus I tend to run through transmissions like crazy so I'm sure the Allison would hold up to me [emoji106]

We're over $3 a gallon for name brand diesel up here. Growing up, diesel & #2 home heating oil was always MUCH cheaper than gasoline by a long shot. They're really putting the screws to us ... whoever "they" are ...

We're higher than most of the country to begin with, thanks to state taxes. Thankfully not as bad as CT or CA, but we're getting there it seems. NJ is the cheapest as far as the northeast goes, only because they don't tax fuel. They don't have to, since they violently wallet-rape homeowners there. The board would collectively spit out expensive whiskey if I told them how much they pay. For most, it's 5 figures!! Alot pay well into 5 figures for a modest home with land. Government gone wild ....

I have to run 93 (Sunoco has 94) in mine or it'll detonate itself to pieces when towing. I'm actually surprised that hasn't happened yet .. (knocking LOUDLY on wood :uhoh: ).

Yesterday afternoon: Filled up for the first time since leaving the dealership last week. 20.9 gallons, 430 miles for an average economy of just over 20mpg on a brand new truck with not a whole lot of freeway driving. For the size and power this truck has, I'm impressed.

Then, I took it home and washed it, got all the fingerprints off the dash (people love to touch the inside of new cars..), cleaned the new-truck film off the inside of the windows, checked all the fluids again, and set the tire pressure to 35 on all 4 tires. They were inflated too high from the dealer...almost 40psi when cold.
