What did you do with your truck/shop today

And in the meantime I will clean up the lenses with some good old toothpaste.

I'd say use a cutting compound like Meguair's M85 Diamond Cut Compound or Chemical Guys Cut 1.0 and then seal over with a nice sealant like Jet Seal 109 or Cila Jet.

There were already hard water spots on the rear glass, but none on the side glass or windshield, so I took some of this stuff to the back glass to clean it up

Then I applied rain-x to all the glass. Couldn't see crap last night while driving in the rain. Hopefully this makes it much easier to see like in my 02. HID's will be a Christmas gift and should definitely help with seeing in the rain

I thought the V8s all had the cooler. The six speeds run hotter in these trucks. Every one I've driven (5 now) ran hot trans temps.

They do. "Auxiliary External Transmission Oil Cooler" included and only available with 5.3L V8 engine or Snow Plow Prep Package.

As I understand it the tranny fluid is thermostatically controlled to help get it up to temp earlier. Mine runs in the mid 190's in the summer. Depending on the ambient temp, the tranny fluid has to reach a certain level before it will shut down cylinders. The colder it is outside, the higher the temp needs to be on the fluid.

In the summer, mine will switch as soon as I reach 3rd gear ^15 MPH putting on the back roads. In the cold winter, it can take several miles, as in 6-10 if it is bitter cold. Sometimes 94 degrees, sometimes 113 degrees.

This was actually 2 days ago. Dropped off the truck at the dealer for recall and warranty work. Transfer case recall and odometer recall. Warranty is for driver seat warmer and the Mylink display is dead. I get to drive around in a previous generation Impala.

So I go to replace my reverse bulb socket, and the one they sent me doesn't even resemble the stock one at all. The stocker has 3 wires, the replacement has 2, and the locking tabs are different between the two of them. Other sites also show the replacement as the one I was sent. First pic is of the original plug, second is the new plug.

Back to Performabuilt it goes for another rebuild! This time I'm going to have them put in a smaller servo so it don't kick so hard into 2nd. It's not my daily anymore but it will still get on my nerves when I drive it lol
