What did you do with your truck/shop today

I adopted a new dog on Saturday. I thought I had everything for Pip...she came with the name...but as soon as I got home I realized I had a 36" long dog and a 24" long kennel...

So yesterday I went back out to get a proper size kennel. She is a hound mix. I haven't been able to get a clear pic of her yet, 11 months old so she doesn't sit still for very long.

No problems with her in the truck, it was getting her back out was a chore.

not today but on staurday drove a few hours to look at a few gmt 800 tahoes. First one was an 06, but was really dirty compared to pics and on the test drive the low oil pressure warning came on, yeah didnt by that one. Drove an 03 with 110,000 on it and it was very good, cleanest interior i have seen yet and just a few issues. minor bumper ding and a cracked mirror housing. Decided we really like it and bought it. Will have to start a build thread on it.

Gassed it up and drove in some snow

Don't you mean corned it up?

How much of a mileage hit do you take in the winter on the corn juice? Is it like winter blend gas?

I may burn a tank of that stuff over the winter, maybe. Just not sure about it, even though I'm surrounded by corn and soy beans.

Was towing with my "performance" transmission that I installed 12k miles or so ago and found out 2nd gear is slipping. How does a trans rated for double the trucks hp go out so soon? Yes I run 35's but I also have 4.88's so that relieves some pressure on it

Pulled code P1870. Sounds like a valve body issue. Not too bad but still puts me in a bad mood

Hopefully it is just a valve body and hopefully they will cover it if I take it to a dealer and such. I'll talk to him later on luckily they have good customer service and long hours. And dang that's crazy, but sometimes I use it for work (like I was today)

I loose about 1/2 mpg. If I drive around in 4wd I loose about 1 mpg. Normally around 10-11 drops to 9-10

Ouch, maybe I won't. The worst tank MPG I have had to date so far in my truck is 17 MPG. That was last winter when I was out playing in the snow, remote starts to warm it up, in the coldest part of the winter.

I agree with you on your salt post. We get at least 6 months of that per year up here in MI. MI puts on more salt per lane mile than any other state in the nation, by a large margin. My car doesn't come out until Memorial Day weekend, and is usually back in storage the week after Labor Day. So 3-4 months is all for it.

Well I can't figure out how to upload a video via tapatalk but I got a video of it slipping. Trans temp was around 110 (approx. 90 degrees above ambient) and I also found out that it's not just second, but third is starting to slip as well. Of course, it's only my luck that it would happen to lol [emoji23]
