What did you do with your truck/shop today

Fixed a push mower after owner ran the blade straight into the ground ...

Then finished that Kawi Brute Force, and started getting neighbor's '03 Sable ready for the demolition derby, after that, I mowed my saturated lawn, and had to scrape 40 lbs. of wet grass off the underside of the deck. Took a pic after the first single scrape!

Did a rear brake job on the 940 yesterday morning, just 3 years after I did rotors and pads. Did all 4 calipers just 1 year and 3 months back! That's what I get for buying Cardone reman calipers! Pieces of garbage. Piston was so seized, I stood on the pedal to the floor, then started pumping it 20x, engine running, and it didn't even budge 1mm! Friggin Cardone!!   FCP Euro wouldn't honor the warranty, either, since they don't carry that brand anymore, and the warranty is only for like-for-like parts. Only choice they had was OE Volvo for $240 each. Frig that! Went to NAPA and grabbed 2 Brembo rotors, their top line coated caliper, and a set of Akebono pads for exactly the same price, after returning the core. I'll sacrifice the $42 Cardone. Nice door stopper now.  Figured I might as well start all over again. Now she's stopping like she's supposed to.

The company is going to have alot of fun trying to get that piston out of there when they try rebuilding that one! Going to need 3,000 PSI of nitrogen to get that piston out of there - better not be within a half mile of that thing when that lets go, lol!

Took the 2-stroke RD350 on a ride with the local Legion Vets last weekend. I ended up winning a $100 bottle of brandy! WOOHOO! :D:thumbs:

Also forgot to post a pic a couple weeks ago, trying to pop-start  the neighbor's '37 John Deere tractor with 3 year old gas in the carb, with his Kubota. I had to drive in reverse full tilt, or it would stall the diesel! Heavy machine!  I didn't know the fuel was that stale when I took the pic! After it didn't start towing it a mile down the road, I checked the fuel for my neighbor - not one flammable part of it left! He dumped a gallon of acetone in the tank, and she lit right off ... after blowing a couple quarts of raw fuel out the stack and all over my neighbor in a heavy mist ...

The blade, lol:

Buddy came over to help me finally figure out wtf is wrong with my truck.  I think I finally know what's wrong with it, rear hub needs to be rebuilt, maybe after that my truck will stop trying to shake me to death.  Surprisingly Amazon was about $25 cheaper than rockauto.  Also figured out that my other buddy and I are dummies and didn't tighten the front shocks down properly.  Still have a noise coming from the front end though.  Found where my rattle noise is coming from too.  One of the metal lines that are coming out of the exhaust broke, no clue what that is, some sensor maybe?  Hopefully there's enough pipe left to flair the end and put it back in w/o having to replace the whole line.

Metal line sounds like an AIR system air line (emissions bandaid - I'd weld it shut and throw the whole system in the trash) - if you look on your belt-driven accessories, there should be an air pump there (unless it's electrically driven - most '07-up vehicles are) - you'd have to follow that tube up into the engine compartment to see.

For your shocks, if they were loose for a long time, you might need new shock bushings - they usually get pounded right out of there, and that makes a BIG racket. I had that happen with an Edelbrock shock on my '89 S10 Blazer, but the shock wasn't loose - it was a defective bushing. It happens these days.

Now, as far as the rear "hub" goes, that's an axle ... so it's either you've got a bent axle, worn out axle bearings, or a problem inside the differential.
