What did you do with your truck/shop today

It was at work, not sure what they were after. They took $20 binocs and my house keys. What a pain.

The game of trying the keys on every door in town.... they most of stole before, they're professionals.

I had a mustang that the doors didn't lock and someone kept breaking into my car and empty my glove box all over my car seat every month, not taking anything not even a gps, money, ownership. No idea why

Finally had the chance to sit down and post.

I originally deleted (removed/capped) my AM/FM antenna about a month of so after I had bought my truck. Yesterday, I had to go to ACE Hardware and get new supplies to "relocate" my AM/FM antenna. I grabbed some hardware Saturday, on my way home from work, the bolt (1/4-28) worked but the nut, that fit the bolt, did not work. Grabbed "7mm fine thread bolt and nut, and new eyelets for the cable. My son came out to see what I was doing. Had him grab the antenna post/stud (while holding the antenna up over his head), and the radio started picking up the station that it was set to, he had that "how in the world" look on his face. :freak: Took the cable with both new eyelets on it and touched the post, kind of picked up the station, then touched the end of the antenna to the cable, had connectivity and clear signal, so I attached the one eyelet with the bolt, still great signal. Placed the antenna under the fender, zip-tied it, routed the cable out of the way of the hinge, placed the eyelet on the post, went to grab the nut off the front cover, and MURPHY decided to show up, down under the cowl, behind the headlight and never made it to the ground. Searched for that stupid thing for a little short of a hour, figured it got caught somewhere, so I drove around the block (rough road), looked in the truck and walked around the block, still nothing.:banghead: So, today, after work, while I'm out looking for a new microwave (to make "the boss" happy), I'll have to go get another 7mm fine thread nut ($0.25). The good thing is, I can install it without opening the hood and right there in the parking lot. :fingersx:

I feel your pain just about on a daily basis, Chris.

A magnet and a claw are 2 requirements when working on any modern vehicle. Stuff just warps into another dimension once it's dropped anywhere around the engine bay or doors. I can't tell you how many of my sockets and extensions are riding around inside GM doors (the little hole behind the mirror has NO exit!), completely unretrievable.

Got them back about 4 days later. The management office called me and said maintenance went and retrieved them. We lost a key to the 2011 F150 in a lake. Not only did I have to drive the spare to my uncle 3 hours away, the replacement was about $300

Took it back to get road force balanced again, don't think it did any good. Just for S&Gs the tires/rims were marked to see if the tires are spinning on the rims. Didn't know this was a thing but apparently it has happened on aluminium rims and is even more rare on steel rims which is what I have. Got home and pulled the 2 DRL fuses to save what few hours my headlights are on driving around during the day.

Took a walk around the dealer's lot while there. Down to 2 duallies the LTZ and a Denali. Still looking for that "unicorn" that fits my apparently absurd wants. Also stopped and was amazed that a Z06 can cost $108-$110k! Last I knew they were only 70-80ish and the ZR1s or whatever they are were 6 figures. Inquired about a test drive on one of the duallies but I guess since I wasn't interested in actually buying and the sales staff wasn't all there yet, no test drive.

Top-line diesel pickups bumped the 'Vette out of the $70-$80 Grand slot, lol.

Crazy the prices on everything now. For the same exact thing I bought 10 years ago, it's $15k more ... :nonod: Ridiculous.

On the truck front, I've got her severely OVER her payload. A 2,400 lb. pallet of coal in back. :D

I had the air bags pumped up to 100 psi ... and then tried to get into the barn - you can see the fresh chunk of rotted wood I knocked off that header trim piece there, lol. Had to air them down to 10 psi to fit inside!

Last week I hauled an old trailer back on my flatbed trailer. We found it in the overgrown edge of the yard at my brother's new house. Thing is built like a TANK. Used my dad's Arctic Cat 400 to yank it out of there. Looks like it's been parked well over 20 years. Vines and all kinds of crap were attached to it. Surprisingly, the wheels rolled! I attempted to air up the tires, but it promptly leaked out of the rims. tires actually held pressure for a bit!

Going to use the truck 2 days, exactly a week apart. That's a record! I think this tank of gas is from May ...

That price is with Z07 package, comp package, carbon ceramics, and all other options

Finally went dash rattle hunting. Tightened screws adding loctite along the way. Found 4 loose screws behind knee bolster under steering wheel. And found a rock rattling in the metal skid plate underneath.
