What did you do with your truck/shop today

'Fixin to make a run to the beer store. Two more miles and I will turn over 20,000 miles. Not too bad for a 2014. Maybe I won't get reamed too bad when I trade it in on the 2019's when they come out. Yeah right. lol I'm just a sucker for that new truck smell. Let see... I had a '96,'99,'03,two '07's a classic and new body style, a '12 and now I'm on my third 2014. First two were lemons. Hey... I didn't say I was the most frugal guy with my money. I just like new trucks.

Lost my keys down an elevator shaft. Got a new key at the dealer. They changed the design

The center eye is part of the modification from the ignition switch BS.

They key is longer too. Surprised no one wanted to know about the elevator shaft. Screwed my day to hell

That sucks man - I came close to losing mine down a storm drain in some craphole city I was in. Another half inch and I'd have been stuck there.

Another time, a day after I got married, I was doing another craphole neighborhood route in Worcester - I was driving in the stand-up position on the right-hand side, took my glove off, and heard "PING .........ping ping ping" ... saw my brand new wedding ring rolling down the curb towards a drain! I pretty much dove head first out of the truck and grabbed it about 3" from the grate. That one sure got the blood pressure up there!

Speaking of keys, I lost my spare set for the Silverado, with the fob and all of course, back in the summer of '11. Was around $300 back then, so I've been getting by with one key since. I'd imagine they've come down quite a bit since then. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to grab another ...

I don't have a house key right now, missing a console safe key, a nice GMC key, and a new fob. And a flash drive. Building management wanted $700 to have someone come out. I told them call me during routine maintenance

Aww man that really sucks. :nonod:

They couldn't just open the door in the basement and grab them for you? Have to call "someone" ... how dumb is that. You'd think they'd have the keys to the shaft door. Can't say I'm surprised though, the way everyone goes way overboard on "safety" today. Gotta have a "professional" handle every different aspect of the building ...

Both fobs look gigantic! Makes me appreciate my '07 a bit more.

Odd looking keys, for sure.

I had a newer Volvo I had to deliver once. I sat there for 10 minutes trying to figure out how the hell to start the damn thing. Had a key fob only that sat in your pocket, then had to push a huge button. I push the stupid button, everything would light up ... I'd push it again, and everything would shut down! It was so stupid that I grabbed my ancient phone and started recording the process - my buddy responded, "Step on the brake, dummy!"

Can always count on friends for help. :D

I blame my mom. She called me while I was holding my keys and trying to get to the damn business tax agency for the state. And I had to call the building management which are not on site

I still get mailings monthly for the recall. They aren't hacking up my switchblade keys. I have called and twittered GM to take me off the list I am not having this "fixed". Just because one idiot doesn't know how to drive and hit it with their knee doesn't mean it's a widespread problem

It reminds me of the Impala & Grand Prix keys that apparently got people intoxicated, shut their cars off, and ran them off the road. Wouldn't think sticking an insert in the key could stop all that.
