What did you do with your truck/shop today

Programming and databases suck donkey dong

I think it's interesting, but it definitely won't be my favorite part. I'm more interested in the networking aspect of it. Either way it's free since I lost my job so I'll take it.

I was thinking how do you guys change the oil on your 900 series trucks? I have to use a oil filter socket to do it sense GM has them tucked up in there. Also are you able to tighten it enough by hand? I always end giving it a little tweak with the socket. I can't get my hand around the filter to tighten it enough.

Yeah ain't that a fabulous design? Having it easily accessible was way to easy! GM had to modernize it ... :nonod:

For years I used a K&N HP-1017, because it has a 1" hex on the bottom. Eventually I broke down and bought a oil filter socket set, since I kept running into this problem on all the newer stuff.

Couldn't find any transfer case fluid locally at a reasonable price so I just ordered it from Summit. It was still around $15 cheaper even with shipping.

Holy crap, that's still expensive. Even a dealer couldn't get it cheaper?

Yea, it's definitely not cheap. I didn't even try my local dealer because they want an arm and a leg for everything. For example they want over $10 for one oil filter for my Cruze when I can get two of them at another dealer that's farther away from me for a little over $11. I couldn't find the Valavoline stuff locally either.

Yesterday I had my neighbor, dad, and one of my friends help me take off the entire bed of the truck to replace the fuel pump. It was sure difficult and awkward doing it that way instead of dropping the tank but it would have been more difficult the other way I think.

It was fun to get my hands dirty! Always a good time when you end up smelling and looking like a mechanic.

I used their bolts for my headers. Really good quality.

Had my truck into the dealer I purchased it from (independent) to have the steering box, pitman and idler arm replaced under warranty for the past 2 days. Got to drive around a Chevy Sonic. Not too keen on driving such a girlie looking car, but that little thing impressed the hell out of me. Not bad.
