Steers Awful Easy

Recommended Posts

I didn't drive my truck very much after I bought until I installed the 2" level kit so I'm not sure if the steering changed or not. However my truck steers awful easy with little to no resitance. I know I shouldn't say the "F" word on here lol but my "Ford" 2010 F-150 has a decent amount of resitance in the steering. You don't want to sneeze while driving Sierra it steers so easy. I wonder would changing the front end geometry by adding the level kit make this happen, hell maybe it steered like that when I bought it and I just didn't notice it. Anyway to gain some resitance?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that thinks that thought maybe it was just me. I would be interested in knowing if theres something a guy can do to tighten it up a little.

You can tighten the steering and loosen it even more by changing control arm bushings. Moving the control arm forward slightly or backward slightly using a different size bushing will accomplish this. We have done this to

To tighten the steering, you would need to replace the front bushing with a slightly larger one, and a smaller on at the rear. Not sure what the exact size needed would be though.

To tighten your steering, changing bushings would work. I would start out small by increasing bushing size at the front by 3/32nds of an inch. Then getting the proper size bushing for the rear. An increase in caster by 1- 1 1/2 degrees will tighten your steering.

Thanks for the input guys, your talking about the bushings in the control arms where it mounts to the frame rail right? Weird that by adjusting those will add some steering resitance but I'm pretty green on that kinda stuff lol. I'm just glad there's something out there that'll give me a little resistance. I can live with it the way it is if I have to but a little adjustment would sure be nice.
