tapatalk differences

My phone shows Tapatalk forum app and then theres the xparent Tapatalk "color". Is there a difference besides colors? Do I need the original one or can I use a colored one. same price and same developer. By the way I'm looking on Google Play "Android Market". I'd hate to spend $2.99 twice.

Decided to try and got the red tapatalk app. Works fine and I love the black buttons with red lettering.
