Offloading ability leveling kit, rear blocks or not

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if lifting the back too will help or hinder me offload? I scratched up my license plate holder coming down a washed out gravel road on a hill. Damn front end is lower then my dads old 76 2wd with a camper on. I'm kind of thinking that raising just the front will fix the angle down at the front and then lifting the back will put me in the same issue only 2" higher. I'm thinking I would do airbags when I get. Trailer if I don't do rear blocks.

Let me know what you all think, I'm 2 weeks new to my truck and bought a 2012 Sierra 1500 4x4 crew cab midnight blue Nevada edition with tow package.

Not sure about steep angles off-road...but I installed 2.5" "Leveling Kit" and then changed out the rear blocks to 2" blocks to actually make the truck LOOK level. I say look because before the blocks it was a 1/4" difference but the truck looked like it was leaning to the rear a lot. With the rear blocks it was 0.5" higher in the rear and LOOKED level. I added the bags to keep the lights pointing in the right direction with a load on the truck. They lifted the rear another 0.5"! So now I have a 1" rake to the front again.

Thanks for the insight. Sounds like you have done pretty similar to what I have done. The front valence just went bye bye so that helped a little front end clearance wise. I'm leaning towards a 2" level in the front and just doing bags in the rear since you say they lift the back end up half inch or so? Is that lift with minimum air pressure? They effect unloaded ride much?
