Rotation is not an issue with the proper block type. I have been doing this stuff a long time and have never had a customer report a problem after adding a rear block. May be an issue with to tall of a flat block but not happen with a tapered block.

The slip yoke moving in and out is doing what it's desinged to do. The clunk is from not being properly lubed from the factory and is easily fixed.

A bad set of leafs, worn out leafs that are weak, add a leaf or not will be prone to causing axle wrap. BEfore adding a leaf or block, make sure your leaf packs are in good working order or you will have issues either way.
