Zone Offroad lift running 35/12.50/20's on Stock GM's?

Recommended Posts

Im curious if any members here have the Zone Offroad 6.5” lift kit on their NNBS 4x4 and are running stock GMC 20’s with a 35/12.50/20 tire? I was reading online and found an article of someone saying the lift wouldn't accommodate that size of tire on the stock rim due to the 6” backspacing (5.97” to be exact) apparently it will rub on a component of the suspension (can’t remember if it was the knuckle, control arm or ball joint).

After reading this I decided to call Zone Offroad where I spoke with Steve for more insight. Steve said a 35/11.50 size tire would clear without a problem but pretty sure a 12.50 would rub the suspension components regardless he said he would speak with one of the techs to see if anything had changed. After a minute or so on hold he returned to the phone saying that the tech said the tire would in fact clear without rubbing suspension components and no need for wheel spacers.

After talking with Steve further he asked if I was a member of some GM forums and if so turn to them for some questions... so here I am.

Does anyone here have a NNBS 4X4 with the 6.5” Zone Offroad lift running Trail Grappler 35/12.50/20 on stock 6’ Spoke Yukon wheels? Is their any problem with tires rubbing on the suspension components?

a trail grappler in that size measures out to 35.04x13.39 right off of their website, you might have better luck with their 295/60r20... that measures out to 34.45x12.13, that being said rough country claims their kit will run 33's on factory 20's with their 5" kit and 35's on their 7.5" kit. im willing to be zone's kit will also fit the factory 20's, but i'd try to find the skinner the better like that 295/60r20
