First week with Black bear tune

Recommended Posts

I've done some research and If anyone can confirm this I would appreciate it. So I can order the autocal..

Purchase the autocal.

Hook it up.

Copy my stock tune.

Send it to blackbear via email.

They send me there tune via email.

Load up into truck.

Done.

Im sure directions are included to, Correct ?

Edit: 8th digit "G" in vin. L96 Flexfuel. Some tuners do not support, would this be the case with AutoCal?

Can you email me your whole VIN ([email protected])? Also, do you already have a tune on the truck? If so, please make sure it is not locked by the previous tuner.

You are pretty much spot on for the AutoCal, other than the fact, that with your stock tune, you also send us a datalog from your vehicle, which we use to build your tune.

W/T_Deluxe, I have same size of tires as you, all terrains though so less aggressive and cant get them to break loose even with the black bear tune. Similar mods too. I wonder if your eaton posi would make the differece? Had the Tune for over a year, went from 16.0l/100km to 16.3l/100km and the only thing I noticed different was that the sport track mode holds the RPM's longer, feels good but who knows if any power difference.

Jenna: I was never made aware that you had to clean the TB and the MAF before doing the data logging and sending the info in for the tune. Would that make any difference??

Cleaning the MAF and TB should be a common maintenance thing for these trucks (much like cleaning the oil). We usually tell folks to make sure everything is up to par (maintenance wise) on their vehicle, but can always tell if there is something wrong with the MAF or TB based on datalogs.

Along with the MAF and TB, a major difference would be the fuel quality and octane.
