Had to make a Lowes run tonight, as I get out of the truck and go towards the store I meet a man pushing a flat bed out with a box on it, don't think much about it and I go on my way to get the supplies that I need. Needless to say it takes 45 minutes to find everything that I need (almost) I carry my stuff back out to the truck and as I get close I see the back door open on this Honda car and the guy is down on the ground, so I ask him if he is OK and he says yes just working on his car!! I start to load my stuff and see him pick up the rear door from his car and set it down on the ground!!! He then picks up the new dishwasher that he has taken out of the box and puts it into the back seat and picks up his door and bolts it back on. Of course I had left the house in a hurry and did not have my phone with me to tape it, (he had to know I was laughing my butt off at him. Like my daughter said when I told her about it why did he not just put the door in first and only put it back on one time???? :jester:

Thats nothing. I have hours of stories from when I worked at Menards (similar to Lowes in the midwest) during college. This was before camera phones :(

I worked at Circuit City in high school and have not so fond memories about idiots buying large TVs and them not fitting into the vehicle they drove in. It'd usually happen before the super bowl or a race or other big sporting event and these folks were obviously the low end of the sports fan spectrum.

The two most interesting ones were getting a 38" TV into a Saab hatchback (this is a TUBE TV children, none of this new fangled flatscreen stuff ) and a massive projection TV into the back of a Suburban- guy put down both rows of seats and had his boys crawl in there and hold the TV in place for the ride home and the guy lived like 30 mins away.

ok here are a few memorable ones

1. Honda civic 2 door + winter (snow/ice) + 24ft lumber (tied to roof) = new limited edition helicopter civic once he hits a slick spot on the road

2. December + xmas tree + SUV Roof + not tying down = customer returning to store pissed off asking for another tree. We werent allowed to tie stuff down for liability reasons. Manager came out to ask if the lady tied it down and we said nope, she wanted us to do it and we told her we cant (she had 2 guys with her by the way). Store manager told her to go pick it up off the side of the road

3. Guy puts lumber on his roof, closes door, opens windows slightly, ties load to roof = customer cant get back into their car

Christmas tree you say?

This thing was dancing all over the place. I was sad it never fell off.

I almost hit a Christmas tree once. Fully decorated. It was like February going home late from work one night and it rolled out onto the highway. I cut around it and spent the rest of the drive wondering if I actually saw what I just saw or if I imagined it.

I have been seeing this car go by the house now and then that I wish I could get a picture of. It is around a 2000 chevy cavalier. I has the biggest wing on the trunk I have ever seen. Sounds like no muffler. Has cab lights, (Yes I said cab lights) And to top it off has a big set of truck nuts hanging from the back bumper. Wish I could get a picture to post cause its funny.

Years ago I was remodeling a house and only had an 70 Pontiac I paid $150 for. I took out all the seats except the driver's and cut a big opening in the sheet metal divider between the trunk and passenger compartment. I could slide a lot of lumber in and close the trunk. Also carried a good bit of 10' conduit in it. Got some interesting looks when doing so. Sometimes you have to make do with what you have.

The funny thing was when people came into the lumber yard to pick up the oddest thing (my 24 ft lumber example) they always said my friend with the truck sent me or "my truck is at home"

sure uh huh

When I bought my currentt house 12 years ago, I was driving 98 Grand Prix GTP 2 door. I needed 10 8 foot 2x4s to build a divider in the basement. I folded the "ski pass through down, and got all 10 of the 2x4s in and got the truck closed. Talked to neighbor later on that day and he it reminded him of the clown CA at the circus, the boards just kept coming out,
