Train Horns

Anyone know or would recommend a place to get a train horn for a truck? I have been looking online but don't really trust buying off websites, and there are so many options.

Help please!

If you know anyone who works for the railroad or in the mass rail transit industry, they should be able to get one right out of their maintenance shop storeroom.

whats the train horn for ? I know i could go on a little rage spree if i was walking down the street and someone was blowing my ears out . My hearing is bad enough as it is working on commercial fishing boats the last thing I need is some punk having a train horn for shits and giggles. Personally I would feel like beating the person senseless and then take a air horn up to there ears and make them death . Thats how I would feel but of course I would not do that but their are people out there that would do that and personally they had it coming .

I would be interested to know what a train horn would be used for on a truck besides just annoying people and risking road rage from other people. Their are some scary people when they had a few drinks .

Some people never grow up Morgan,we had a incident around here a few months ago where a guy blew his extremely loud horns (train horns) as they said on the news to where it scared the hell out of a guy in a vehicle with his family in the car and almost wreaked his vehicle so the guy stopped him and both got into a fight to where the guy with the horns was sent to the hospital because he got the hell beat out of him. The guy with the horns was charged with numerous citations.

It would be for my boyfriends 07 classic sierra duramax diesel it has a 10" lift with 40" tires and his horn is just sad (his truck looks mean and sounds it...until he hits the horn) and he really wants one. He is not a jerk so he wouldn't be using it to blow the ear drums out of people.

Good idea wolfman but they would need an air compressor as well correct?

I rarely have to use my horn. A few times if someone is cutting me off but that is basically it. Most stock horns are fine the way they are. Its just suppose to grab a person intention not scare them or make them death and yes a train horn is really loud . I can hear those horns from trains easy like 5 miles plus away . So if your boy friend loves his truck I would not install those on his truck . Nice expensive tires like that could easy get a knife in them .

This is very true, but it's what he wants and if he is a jerk with it then he will just deserve what he gets from it :) Not my problem how a gift is used after given out haha.

Yes, a train horn would require an onboard air compressor, or for occasional short blasts, an air tank ~ 2-5 gallons capacity, that could be recharged at the gas station or in our own garage for those of us who have air compressors at home.

Hornblasters, I have a set of train horns. And an onboard compressor, I also got it "T'd" off at the compressor with a quick connect with a 50 foot coil hose tucked away in tool box in the box. Came in handy plenty of times as did the horns which I mounted pointing straight down behind the grill. Best $600 I spent on that truck, when people screw up they KNOW it. Ahahah

Also if you got the cash look into K5LA...authentic train horn, set you back over $1000 but the sound is amazing. Lol

Check your local laws....they are illegal in FL, as is "improper use of the horn".

+1 I didn't wire mine to my actual horn either. Also pm 06silvy he proby has the sickest train horn set-up out o anybody on this forum. It's pretty crazy

All I know if someone uses a train horn on me they should not be surprised if i over react and take a bat out of my box and remodel there truck and them if they decide to get in the way of the remodel they might become of the job. To me people with train horns are more disrespectful than people that straight pipe their truck and chop off the muffler.

Those types of people I always think are missing something in their lives and just want attention and to be the most annoying they can be for that attention. Maybe there dads did not give them that attention or they have a small penis lol .

That is all I am going to say on this thread now because I have offended a few people but its true their is no reason for a train horn besides for the attention and that attention is the wrong attention in less your motive is to really piss someone off but their is far easier ways to do that and less expensive ways.
