Installed leveling kit....pic included

Recommended Posts

So I installed my fatbobs leveling kit this weekend (same as the RC kit)... in probably a record time haha

It took me and a friend all of maybe 15 minutes to do both sides(minus the alignment)...we did have a lift and any tool imaginable at our disposal (including an alignment rack) also which helped...

now this picture doesn't show very much because of the angle...but I feel like after looking at hundreds of pictures of GMT900s with 2" front leveling kits I feel like mine isn't as high as everyone else... I do still have a little bit of rake...

Now my question is....where can I buy this .5" spacer people are talking about to get a "2.5"" leveling kit in the front?

I would like to do this because I want to replace my rear block with one from a GMT800 to give myself .75" higher in the rear.

my truck only has 6k miles on it...so I don't want to get too crazy, but what are some suggestions for a bigger lift that can be reverted back to factory if necessary? I know with the 6" kits you have to drill the control arms and yada yada yada... I do want to go bigger without doing anything to the body. At most I would do a 1.5" body lift but I would really like to stay away from that.

Does anybody have a 3" suspension lift out there that can be used with the front leveling kit and doesn't have to be permanent?

Fat Bobs, I ordered one for my truck last week. I couldn't find it on their website, just call them.

You have to call them and ask for it, not on the website for some reason. Its actually a 1" level, but in two pieces. You can use one piece which is .5 or both together for 1.

The real question here is if you even have a 2in lvl, you say you did it so quick that makes me think you might not have had to drop the upper ball joint, if you didn't have to drop the upper ball joint to get the spacer in then it isn't big enough to give you a 2in lift.

lol I can assure you I have a 2" leveling kit installed. I used to be an assistant service manager/service advisor and I had a certified master tech help me install it. We did the same install process as seen in this youtube video...very doable with 2 people in fifteen minutes on a lift.

It literally took no time at all because once the truck was on the lift everything went with ease. I loosened the nut on the control arm and dropped it down, loosened the sway bar, and he popped in the spacer. Then he tightened everything back up as I moved to the other side. It couldn't have been more than 15 minutes... Then I left to go golfing and he did the alignment & put in my body colored door handles so I'm not sure how long the rest of the process took. I got back from the course and my truck was sitting there done.
