Rough Country Leveling Kit Install Question

Recommended Posts

I have been doing some reading on the install time for the Rough Country Leveling Kit and I see some people really have the install time down to next to nothing. Do you mind sharing if there are any steps in the RC instructions that are just not needed.

If you have a buddy to help you can skip most of the steps. Jack up driver side front end (set parking brake and put a block in front and behind the rear tires and make sure you use a jack stand to support the truck) and remove front wheel. Unbolted the sway bar and then the two bolts holding the strut to the lower control arm. Then one of you (which ever can apply more force) pushes down on the upper control arm and push on the out side of the strut assembly (pushing it away from you and toward the truck). Have your friend line up the spacer and the bolts and hand tighten the nut. Tight the two bolts for the strut and the one for the sway bar and torque to spec. Reinstall tire, torque bolts and lower the truck. Repeat for the other side. Then take the truck to have the alignment checked, the toe will need to be adjusted. After about 500 miles check the torque. I don't think I left anything out and if you have any questions let me know. If you have access to an impact wrench it makes it go even faster.
