K&N intake review

Okay so I just put my 57 series intake on and I love it. It gives the truck a growl when accelerating and that's all I wanted, it should sound wicked once I get my exhaust. But anyway, I got a request to review the install. Couple things, the hardware was all similar, but just different enough to matter and very easy to use the wrong thing in the wrong place, and all the directions say is "use supplied hardware" kinda annoying. But, most importantly, if you get this kit, attach the silicone tube to the heat shield, attach the MAF to that and then attach the last silicone tube to that BEFORE you install the shield, and put it all in as an assembly. Its a pain in the butt to do the way the directions tell you too. But other then those 2 things it was easy as pie, took 90 minutes, and I couldn't be happier.

I have the EXACT same experience as you, the directions pissed me off to no end by just saying "use the supplied hardware"!!! I wont ever buy another K&N product because of that. I dont want to have to guess which hardware i need to use when doing an install on a cold air intake.
