Rancho 4" lift wheel question

Recommended Posts

So I have pretty much made the decision to go ahead and get the rancho lift. I have a 2010 silver ado z71 CC 5.3 I went and got a quote for the lift with 9000xl shocks, trail grapplers and the xd spy wheels. With labor it turned out everything was going to be almost $6,000 dollars. I went to 4wheelparts in Marrietta, GA.

I do not have that much money to drop at the moment. My question is, will the look good with the stock 18" wheels from chevy? Will using the stock wheels create a problem with bigger tires with backspacing, etc?

Also, I want to run as big a tire as possible without having to regear and drop even more money. Will a 33" tire on the stock wheels work well or is it worth continuing to save up so I can get new wheels and tires? Any help is really appreciated!

I've been pricing the same lift and shocks and it seems like a high price that they gave you. I found the lift and shocks for under 2,000. So unless they are charging you 3 grand for the wheels and tires and 1 grand for the install than you could do better.

Ya they are charging me about 2200 for the lift and then about 2500 for the wheels. As well as labor costs and what not. Im hoping that I can talk them down if I can find lower prices from other companies.

Have you gotten the lift yet? What tires are you thinking about going with?

That's definately a very high price. I paid less than that for my current lifts, wheels, and tires.

I knew it sounded way to high for what I wanted.

Matt, I have seen your posts on here before, seems like you really know your stuff. In your opinion, should I keep the stock wheels and get new 33" tires, or should I get the wheels as well?

No, not yet. I'm waiting till next month to see if Rancho runs that promotion again. Havent decided on tires yet, probably gonna go with Toyo's or the trail grapplers, not sure what size yet

Okay I was wondering about that. Would you reccomend a 9 or 8.5? Thanks

You can run a 33x12.50 on your current wheels, but it's just not recommended. To fall within specs you would want at least an 8.5" wide wheel. I personally wouldn't buy a wheel narrower than a 10" wide...but that's just my preference.
