Installed 1.5 inch body lift

Recommended Posts

Well finally got the body lift done for the most part. It took a little longer than I expected, but I also had to cut a hole in the floor to acces one of the body mounts weld nuts. Kinda sucks but had no choice as I couldnt get the body mount bolt out. The rest went pretty good, Im not really happy with how the front bumper sits. I have to see if I can get any more adjustment out of it, if not I guess it just is what its. Also have to adjust the 4wd linkage as its binding on the fuel lines going into neutral and 4-lo anyway heres some pictures...

Just with 2in leveling kit

I can get some, im not real happy with the front bumper, it needs quite a bit of adjustment now that I just looked at it in the light, but hopefully I can get it squared up right. It wasnt too bad really, I mean I dont think having a weld nut break is very common so, I wouldnt worry about it. If you look at the last picture you kinda see that the bumper is sittng a little too low, and after looking at it again its also shifted a little too far the the left but Im gonna leave that until spring time comes and its a bit nicer out. As you can see in the pictures it was pretty nasty, we were wroking in standing water the whole time, and I even power-washed the frame before we started! Now just wating for my wheels, and posi unit to come in and then I'll be done...right?

Oh and forgot to meniton this is the Zone kit

good to know Im not the only one with the bumper issue, if i cant get it where i want it with the brackets I might have to see if i can modify them to make it look more like stock. Really wish my wheels would get here already, we got a good covering of snow the other day and my MTR's are just sitting in the garage :(

I need to ask, did the 2" level kit really make a big difference on the Reg Cab Long Box? I Have mine sitting in the garage waiting to be put on but I just dont know how much it will do.

I thought so, yes. If you look in my gallery I have two direct side shots of the truck, just before and then just after the leveling kit. If you take off the little plastic air dam it really makes it look better too.

Oh, and the ends arnt quite the only problem either, the whole bumper seems to sit down a little low. I think if I do what i mentioned about the bumper mount brackets I can move it up, and then modify the side braces to bump the sides up. Cool thing is I bout the bolt on bumper kit for it, so I have a set of brackets to experiment with, and if it doenst work, I can just use the relocation instructions in the kit for my factory bumper mounts, anyway, im rambling now so im done haha
