Just got rear ended .:(

Was siting at a yeild and a guy hit me probely doing 10 km or less . Was in a bit of shock turned my hazzards lights on got out quickly looked at the back and looked fine (it was not) asked the guy if he was alright like (4 times lol ) still kinda shaked up a bit with my heart pounding . The guy was smoking still He drove a dark grey or black ranger new model . He pulled his front linces plate off and I was not thinking right in the head . and I asked if he was alright and he said yes and I went back in my truck drove away and pulled over 5 mins later at wallmart and looked at my rear end again and there is a bump on the left side of my bumper in the metal crome part . and the left side of the bumper is alot closer to the truck and the right side is farther away from the truck . I was with my girl friend at the time . LESSION learned. NEXT TIME I GET F......CKING HIT DONT ASK IF THEY ARE ALRIGHT COME OUT WITH A BAT AND DEMAND FOR THERE NAME , LIENCE, AND PHONE NUMBER AND GET A WITNESS NUMBER AND NAME . becuase that guy just wanted to get his ass away from me . He even took off his front liences so I could not glance at it (I was not thinking at the moment was in shock . and to be honest my neck is a little sore but I have no idea if that was becuase of the accident or just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. guess i will know tommrow if i have whip lash if I get up with a sore neck and have a head ache . Girl friend said she had a head ache but she gets head aches all the time lol so I am not sure . She was looking at me when he hit me . Anywas to day was a bad day . So I go to the cop station and there closed and open up till monday. wanted to report a accident becuase your suppose to and thought that was stupid . Not very good with the protect AND SERVER part . click on there button and they told me to basicaly try again on business hours . I just basically wanted to tell my side of the story incase that guy came in with my liences plate number and incase he wanted to ram his truck in a pole that night and claim insurance on me for a better truck like a chev . ok done my rant . anyone know where i can get a good bumper for a 2005 silverado 1500.

That sucks about the hit. Glad you and the girlfriend are ok. Be glad it was a low speed rear-ender.

Dang that sucks. I barely had my truck 6 months when I got rear ended. I was stopped waiting to make a turn. The guy was going 25 and I saw him coming so I managed to let off the brakes. My truck had a tweaked bumper but his car was toast. Depending on your insurance, you still might be able to put in a claim for damages. I don't know where you can find a good bumper for sure but lmctruck.com does sell them.

After being involved with 3 not at fault accidents it becomes routine that the first thing I do before I even check for damages is get the plate of the other guy on paper. Not worth getting burned after realizing that there are damages done to you rig that you didn't not notice at first. Take it from a guy thats been burned before by some crazy people. Hope you and your gf feel better and as for your bumper LMC truck is a good option.

you should of got his license,name and insurance company...notified the police also..no telling if that guy was drunk or under the influence of something illegal, hell he could of drove off and ran over a few kids on the way...let alone now your stuck paying the repair bill and or medical bills..when my truck got backed into in an empty parking lot(no joke) the first number i called was the police, for one she diden't come find me or leave me a note giving me her information..and two i wasen't going to fork up $$ to pay for another person's ignorance, lastly its a felony to hit and run...all and all i'm glad your in one piece and truck's tailgate isen't riding shotgun in the cab with you but i would still notify the police and attempt to find the guy

That happened to my son a few months ago in Pittsburgh except the guy that hit him took off. Luckily my sons car only had a few scratches, but the SUV that hit him left the scene with its front facia dragging on the ground!

I hate cell phones to pieces (like meeces), but the only reason I carry one is the camera capability, when I don't actually have my "camera" camera with me. Pictures tell a thousand words, and at a time like that, most of us aren't exactly in the frame of mind to write everything down, let alone do it accurately. Ditto on video capabilities.
