Got pulled over for my HIDs

I had one run in with the cops regarding my lights.. Ive had the lows done for a couple years, but when i put my fogs in i aimed them up a little and took a drive that night . the lights werent bad when i was behind other drivers, but this one cop i was driving towards they hit him just right and sure enough he pulled me over.

He didnt say anything about them being HID's but the fact that i had my fog lights on with people coming at me... Supposedly the law in his book is you can only have fog lights on if there is no one coming at you on the road and they are needed... Would make more sense if you can only have them on if it were foggy, but whatever.. As soon as he told me my fogs were on i hit the switch for them to go off and he was happy and let me go.. Right away i went home and aimed them back down and havent been bothered since.

When i drive and its dark out , my fogs are on with lows all the time. There are far to many deer in my area to not have extra light..

When i drove my dads 2011 silverado with stock halogens and fogs, i felt myself straining to see in the ditches where the deer pop out of.

As for inspection, they turn the lights on when going into garage and make sure they pop on.. thats it.

I made sure my lights were reaimed when I installed my HIDs and when I installed my level kit. I have had several friends drive in front of me to make sure I wasn't going to be blinding anyone. The only time I have been pulled over for my lights was when one of the ballast died on me so I only had one headlight. Just like 06Z71Silvy, they only check that your lights come on here in Texas.

I'll be honest, I wish every truck with HID's in factory Non-HID housings were pulled over and warned/ticketed. HID's were made to be used in projector housings for a reason. When they are not in said housings they are VERY blinding and annoying to other drivers. I use nothing brighter than a Sylvania Silver Star Ultra, myself.

I have an Infinity G35 with FACTORY hids *xenons* in the FACTORY housings. They are not projectors. You can properly use hids in non projector housings. You just have to use proper reflectors. My old Audi A4 had factory hids which looked like they were in projectors...however they were just in reflective bowls that appear to be projectors.

If need be I can pull out my IL codes and show that in no place does it say they are illegal. White or yellow light in the front of the vehicle is all that is required.
