My gf has a jeep liberty..i believe an 04 or 05..i'm trying to find out the basics here so i make sure i got what i need when i go to change her oil..i believe its 6 banger as far as engine but i'm looking for the following

capacity of crankcase(quarts)

location of the filter and drain plug,(just want to know if i need to pack up my giant ramps)

also if their is anything i should really look over on it..sich as known problems or what not, shes been going to quick lube places and i just don't trust them, so i figured i would do it

thanks

i haven't had time to crawl under it and see how much space i got to work with, the last place she went to diden't give her a mileage sticker so no idea of knowing if the oil is due or not so i'm just planning to do it myself

My wife had a 03 Liberty (POS) oil change is pretty easy on it. I used to just slide my drain pan under it no ramps or jack. The oil filter is easy to get to, you can access it from above it is right up front. The only thing I ran into that seemed to be a problem with the Liberty was the front driveshaft it has a CV type joint at the T-Case end and the boot rips and dries out the joint. You can buy new joints on line and too bad to do. One of my happiest days was when we traded that piece of shit in tho
