Hi All,

I have a 2007 Silverado Ext cab 1/2 ton 5.3 gas with 275/65 18 tires and stock wheels. I like the look of a lifted truck but have no idea what I should spend or what type of lift I should get. I don't do any "hardcore" offroading. I don't know how much lift what size tires I would need etc.....any ideas????

Is it the classic body style or the newer? I'm going to assume its the newer. In that case what do you use the truck for? Any particular height you like or tire size you'd like to run? For a little more practical you can do a 4" drop lift such as rancho's and run 33's or for a little more like myself I have the fabtech and run 35's. There's a lot of options and knowing what you are going to use it for and whether you want to re-gear put steps on or anything will help with suggestions.

I have the NBS, and I don't do much offroading (mainly because it sits too low) but I wouldn't do much more with a lift kit. 33's would work I think and I have nerf bars on it already. I guess I'll be using it mostly for camping, fishing and gettin' to work. :D

it seems a 2-3" body lift for a few hundred dollars would work for you just fine. i did a 3" performance accessories body lift with 34" (305/70/17) tires on mine. doesnt sound like much, but it makes a difference and changed the whole stance. and if you raise the front to level it, youve essentially given yourself 4-5" of lift in the front + the larger tire diameter.

If i had to lift my truck again, i would go with 2.5" leveling kit, 2.5" rear blocks, and either the zone 1.5" BL or Rough Country 1.25" BL. you will net approximately 3.75-4" of lift with this setup. AND ITS the CHEAPEST 4" lift out there

His is the previous model of ours so his options are different.

I cant really give good advice but there are different avenues I've read about. You can swap out your keys to net a couple inches and do a body lift. Or you can look for a 4" kit that may or may not drop the crossmember. But for running 33's you shouldn't need to go over a 4" unless you want to.
