RC 2" level issues?

I've only had mine on for about 4 months or so, so far no issues. From what I have seen others post the 2inch level kit doesn't cause to much more wear if any but the people going with the kits that are bigger then that have seen more wear and tear. I know some of the guys on here have had the 2" RC kits for years with no issues. You might be able to find some more info by searching, I know a lot of people have chimed in on similar post.

I had my 2" RC kit on my '07 for about 30,000 miles without issue, then moved it to my '11 for another 17,000 miles so far without issue

Did you notice an increase in fuel consumption with the leveling kit?

I found a shop to purchase an RC kit and install for $325-350, but they cannot perform the alignment. I have also heard that most alignment shops will not warrant the alignment with any modifications to the suspension.

325 is a complete ripoff.

the RC level kit is like 60 bucks.

You can do the install in your driveway....then find an alignment shop

You can find the part for lower then $60 sometimes. You can install the spacers in your drive way with a jack, jack stand and hand tools in less then 2 hours. If you have an NTB or Service King near by you can get a one year unlimited alignments for about $100 depending on if they are running specials or not.

I was saying under 2 hours if you follow every step with hand tools and taking your time. With a buddy, power tools and skipping the unneeded steps it would be about 30 minutes including clean up. The one thing to remember if you install or have someone else do, make sure you re-torque everything after 500 miles.

I had a 2" skyjacker kit on my '07....traded it with 45k....no problems at all.

I've put a little over 20k on this one since the 2" Zone Offroad kit....no problems.

does that zone kit come with a 2" or 3" block? i'm assuming you didn't stack it on top of the stock 1.25" block. still contemplating on getting either RC 2" level or Zone 2" lift.

There has been no issue aligning the truck. And I can't really say I've lost any mileage from it. And... You can install it yourself in under 45 minutes and thats taking your time. :dunno:

I read the directions online it looks like it would take longer than 45 minutes, what are the tricks? I think I could probably handle it.

Both myself and my father have not had any issues at all with the RC 2"...

It's not a hard install either, the only trick I can tell you about it it's much easier to have an extra set of hands to use the pry bar when installing the spacer and lining up the screw holes. Other than that it's very easy to do alone.

The kit comes with a 2" block, and you just stack it on top of the factory block....or, you could replace the factory block with the 2" block for .75" of lift. And...before the lift block police come out...it's perfectly fine to stack the blocks on this kit. You're only stacking two small blocks...and the u-bolts have great coverage...and the centering pins fit very snug. I think Zone also has the option of ordering a 3" block instead of the 2"...but you would have to call them.

I didn't realize zone came out with one similar to the RC.. I already ordered the RC but is one any different than the other? It doesn't appear so from the details online...

The design of the Zone and RC kits are nearly identical. The only reason I chose the Zone, is because I wanted the rear blocks and new rear shocks...all in one kit....and it was dirt cheap. I'm very happy with it!
