Zone 1.5" Body Lift

Recommended Posts

Installed the RC 2" leveling kit last week and love it now working on getting some 285-70-17 tires to go on my stock wheels. I shouldn't have any rubbing issues as I've seen other members running the same setup but just kicking around the idea of just a tad more lift.

My question is on Zone's website they show two accessories for the kit, one being relocation brackets for the rear bumper which I would definitley want but they also show a relocation bracket for the front bumper. The kit already comes with front bumper brackets so I was wondering what the other style does. The front accessory brackets are $44.00 which ain't bad. I'm wondering if maybe it's an easier install than the ones that come with the kit.

As far as I know, the relocation for the front that comes with the kit requires cutting and welding. The stand alone relocation brackets are simple bolt on installs.

Thanks I like the sounds of that simple means quicker :-)!

I truly hope they have made the front bumper relocation cleaner. I did mine exactly to instruction and still was left with a gap larger than factory between the grill and top of the bumper. No more adjustment left to move it up either. Other than that it was a easy install and a great kit that I would recommend to anyone.

Try out those new brackets and give us some feedback.

Interesting about the bumper I'll have to keep that in mind and see if I run across that in my research, I'd sure like to have to have it back to a factory fit if anyway possible.

Not real common, I wouldnt worry too much and I'm sure we could have fabricated more to make it perfect but I didn't think you could notice it much at all.. I did it with my uncle who has been a certified mechanic for over 20 years and it stumped him too. I haven't ever heard of it on a GMC though, just the Chevy's.

Frogfish, I believe that is his screen name, contacted me with the same issue and I believe he has a post on here with pictures. Maybe try searching for his threads.

I am possibly interested in this too . please keep me posted.

I keep going back and forth on the body lift one minute I decide I want to go that route then the next minute I get to thinking maybe I'll just wait and save up for the Rancho 4" lift, decisions decisions.

IMO save and do a full suspension lift. Lifting is a disease and you always want more, trust me, when I did my 1.5" the next day I had wished I went 3".

Your right about it being a disease lol. I couldn't wait till I installed my leveling kit and right after that I wanted more height and like you say I know right after installing the body lift I'd want more again. The height thing isn't gonna stop until I have exactly what I want and thats the Rancho 4" lift. I might as well chill out and save for what I want so I'll be happier in the end.

I'm with you on that one. I am waiting until I can pay cash for a 6" suspension lift with the shocks I want, 33's with the exact wheels I want, and then the extra money to pay my uncle to use his lift and tools for the install.

It may not even be on this truck by the time that happens... :smash:
