Alignment After Leveling (How Soon?)

Recommended Posts

I'm chomping at the bit to install my RC leveling kit that came yesterday but can't get into an aligment shop till tuesday. I know you don't want to drive it anymore then you have to after the kit but wanted to hear your guy's thoughts on the topic. I might end up driving 150-200 miles max. between now and Tuesday and didn't figure that would hurt a whole lot, thoughts?

Like stated above, short mileage should be fine as long as it's not very far out of alignment. Just for kicks I would swap the fronts to the back before going for the alignment. This way if there is even a little wear from being out of spec., you can start all over with the fresh rears on the front.

Well I had an alignment done yesterday at a local Goodyear tire shop $45.00 which I thought was pretty cheap, I didn't more than 50 miles prior. He said the driver's side needed a little tweaking but the passenger side was in pretty good shape. The only thing I don't like and I'm just anal about it and thats the fact the steering wheel is just a tad crooked. I'm debating whether or not to just say the heck with or take it back. I know the guy at the shop will think I'm probably a prick because it's so minor most people wouldn't even notice, but like I said I'm anal about things lol.

An alignment done the right way will not have the steering wheel being crooked. If it were mine I would take it back....What did he mean when he said the passanger side was in good shape? Did they not adjust it at all?

I think I will call them and schedule to get it in to fix the steering wheel issue. He said he made adjustments to both sides just that he had to make less adjustments to the passenger side then he did to the drivers side.

mine was way out of wack after the level kit but then again i drove it for three years on old wash board roads too and never had it done before so maybe it needed it done before hand too but the truck never pulled in any way.

Like they others have said it will be alright for a short amount of time but the sooner its done the better. Mine was off some and didn't want to cause any wear issues on tires plus I hate when the vehicle pulls to one side.
