Rancho 4" Price Quote

Recommended Posts

Been debating on 2.5" level kit or bite the bullet and get it over with and going with the Rancho 4" lift, it all comes down to the check book lol. I just called 4wheelparts,

Rancho 4" suspension lift with RS5000 shocks - $1940.00

Installation and alignment ----------------------------$720.00

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total -----------------------------------------------------$2660.00

2.5" Leveling kit with rear blocks and U-bolts -----$190.00

I didn't think that was really to bad for the Rancho system with installation but damn thats a lot bigger check, might need a part time job lol!!!!

Not a bad price on the lift, but installation seems pricey.

I wondered about that wasn't sure if that was decent or not. I also thought about just doing myself. I'm no stranger to a wrench but have never installed a lift kit.

Be careful as some lifts are non-returnable to stock suspension due to you having to cut on the frame and cross members brackets etc.

Very good point I've seen some that require some cutting and some requires cutting and a little welding, definitley something to watch out for.

any full drop kit to keep the component angles correct are going to require cutting the frame where the diff drops down... most of the ones ive installed also require welding a plate in where that piece is cut off. many also require cutting the tie rod ends. all can be put back to stock wth enough patience and obviously EVERY factory part including the piece you cut off

Check these guys out http://4wheelonline.com/, every now and then they sell the Rancho for $500 off and free shipping. I got mine about a year ago for a pretty good price with the adjustable shocks. I also paid less than half of what you were quoted for the install, I understand it varies with different parts of the country. Come on down South!

Thanks for the info I'll check out that site and see what their offering. As far as coming down south I'm ready to pack up now, it's 14 degrees here with a wind chill of 4. The older I get the more I understand why alot of folks go south in the winter lol!!

The 2" keys and blocks look a bit low. I may have paid too much but honestly I paid $655 for 2" keys and 2" blocks, including install and alignment. It was basically, $300 for the Ready Lift keys and Pro Comp blocks (with express shipping), $250 for the install labor, and $100 for the alignment. They did take it to a GoodYear tire shop and back for me to completely do everything in one day and they had a super clean awesome shop in a fairly high rent area. Personally it was worth it for me so as I say "it is what it is". I figured 2" kit to get to 33" tires for $655 versus 4" kit to get to 34" tires for $2500 plus I would then have to buy new rims (+$1200 more) and the modifications would be irreversible. At the end of the day don't decide based on pictures and opinions! Walk up to trucks you like, take measurements, and decide what you can live with for looks, price, and performance. Enjoy!

Todd,

Thanks for the feedback and I agree a guy has to scope out what he's looking for and what he can afford. I'm going to run the 2" level kit for now as I'm real happy with the way it looks. I hope to upgrade tires next and go with a 285/70/17 that'll add little extra height. I've located two members with crew cabs like mine with the Rancho 4" lift and 33's, that's hopefully going to be the end result for my truck as well some day. The members have answered my questions and sent me a ton of great detailed information on their rigs. One member is still running his factory rims with 33's, no problems and looks sweet. I feel my homework is complete now just have to save up the green stuff.
