ltz seat problem

TheRookie

Question

I have a 2008 silverado crew cab ltz z71 with memory seats. Lately, I have had intermitten issues with the seat not moving to the rear position when i turn off the ignition. If I press the "exit" button on the door several times, the seat will eventually move backwards. I have also tried the side controls on the seat when this occurs as well, and even the manual switch will not work. It will work after i have pressed the "exit" button on the door several times. I hope i have explained this enough, any ideas? Thank you for your time.

no,you need the diagnoses for the code ,i could give it to you but unless you're well versed in following the diagnoses, schematics, componant locations and repair ,why bother,i would take it in,

besides i dont think some scanners can read BCM codes

a common problem in chryslers with memory seats is the exit feature will stop working, the fix on chryslers is to manually run the seat all the way forward, then all the way back than all the way forward again then press the memory button.

something in the memory seat module causes the unit to forget it's track location, I can't speak as to whether or not this will work on the Chevy's, I have not yet experienced it with my LTZ, but it's a thought, most of the programming in most vehicles is basically the same (seeing as it is usually done by third party companies like motorola and siemens).

i looked it up in GM service info and there are DTCs for the seats and the only thing you can do is have it scanned and or just bite the bullet and have the dealer fix it

make sure you can duplicate it for your service visit
