If you have a suspension lift , chime in >>>>

Will a small (3"-4") make my truck ride and handle better than stock ?

What about on crappy roads and off road on washboards fire lanes ?

So far I've been considering a CST lift , like Nuke1 has on his truck . has a nice stance and not over kill , but I need to learn what to look for in a lift . Ive head bad things about Rancho 4" , the small RC lift , ect.....

Thoughts appreciated

Thank you

Mike

I think my truck rides the same as stock, The only thing I have noticed is it hits a little harsher on the bumps and potholes but I relate that to the heavier ply tires. The only changes are minor geometry changes so the ride should remain about the same. Shocks will play a major part in this, I have the CST shocks in the rear, not sure who makes them and the stock Rancho struts in the front. I was just out the other day with some friends and we were talking about how good the truck rides.

I'm very happy with the CST, cost a little more but I have piece of mind with the quality of parts.

I can't speak for the other lifts but they should act very similar.

Whoever told you bad things about Rancho is confused. If I were in the market for a 4" kit that would be it. Just remember, that anytime you lift a truck and add heavier wheels/tires, the ride will suffer. So to say a lifted truck rides better or just as good as stock is a bit of a stretch IMO. But the GMT 900's do have a good ride when lifted with a quality kit/shocks.

<p>

Just installed the Camburg 6.5 Offroad Kit. 10? of wheel travel and 1.5? wider per side, gives wheel travel, ground clearance, and strength.

Includes:

  • Fabricated billet uniball spindles
  • Tubular upper arms
  • Camburg CRS coil springs
  • Bilstein 5100 front shocks
  • Limit straps with bolt-on lower mounts

I have no problems spending the money for good quality.

The reason I mentioned Nukes truck is that he said he does not have that skipping issue which I hear so much about.

I also have no problems with Rancho and the adjustable dampening shock you can get with the kit are a plus IMO , but I've read that even the 4" kit will lift you over 5" . Im not sure if that true , but just what I've read . I do trust Rancho stuff .

I'm going to my local 4x4 shop and just see what the say and report back.
