Nav Install

What Nav unit did you install? OEM/ Advent? Programming necessary? What year/model?

It is a factory nav, and yes there was dealer programming to be done to it. The dealers here in ontario do not do any radio work. York Electronics did the programming and it only took 10 - 15 min.

the nav unit came out of an 07 avalanche with bose, and into my 08 sierra with bose.

model number i would have to tear into the dash again to get it.

I like it so far. i will be getting a lock pick for it in the near future to unlock some features, but for the meantime my $160 for everything and programming isn't bad at all.

You suck :sigh:

When I ordered my truck that was the one thing I didn't put a "check mark" beside. I just didn't think I'd need it. And the more I see everyone here getting them, the more I want one  Not that I "need" it but would like the features and coolness of it. Maybe someday I'll take the plung. 2 things I got that I could have passed on and got the factory nav were the extended range smart remote start and the 6-disk cd player. With the i-pod plug in, I could have passed and the extended range smart remote is cool, but not really required. If I would have passed on the 2, I could have gotten the nav for about the same price.

Glad it worked out for you, it's a nice upgrade

Did you buy the unit from a friend or something b/c that is an outstanding price?

I was given the unit, it was replaced under warrenty in my cousins avalanche, then he upgraded to some aftermarket unit.

So it's a brand new this year factory nav. I was at the right place at the right time, thats all.
