alright, i need everyone's honest opinion. i've read through the threads, some really old, so i wanted to ask everyone that has had their splash guards for more than a few months what they think of them. and if you believe you should've gone a different route, please let me know!

I have a set that look just like the weathertechs but they are GM also. Zero issues and I like the style. They also say GMC  The one thing I don't like about the "molded" GM style is they tend to rub the paint off

i've been leaning toward the weathertechs mainly because they are "no drill" and do not have an emblem on them.

but wasn't sure which was best at blocking debris from the tires

my wife's SRX has had splash guards from the factory and i love it how the white paint stays white for weeks at a time. i go 2 days with mine clean and have gunk all over the running boards and lower half of the front door because my apt complex waters the grass everyday

I've used both the Husky and the WeatherTechs on my new Silverado, so here's a few notes from experience:

1. The Husky flaps tend to stick out a little further than the WeatherTechs, which could be beneficial. However, at the farthest point of the flaps the dirt wouldn't be anywhere near making contact with your vehicle so it's something of a moot point unless you are running wider tires.

2. The Husky flaps still allow some dirt to end up on further back on your truck so your rear passenger steps will probably still get dirt on them.

3. I personally think that the Husky flaps look a little goofy with how large they are. (The stock picture you posted makes them look smaller than they are.)

4. The WeatherTech flaps barely cover my stock Bridgestone Duelers.

5. The WeatherTech flaps also allow for some dirt to get on the bottom of the body.

6. The WeatherTech flaps, while no drill, have exposed mounting mechanisms that are quite visible. If you're going for an ultra-clean install look, these do not offer it.

7. Drilling holes in the sheet metal is a huge PITA without proper equipment.

8. Molded mud guards offer little protection from rocks.

9. If you want to avoid losing paint, buy some 3M paint protection film and cut it to match the area where the flaps make contact. The Husky flaps come with this film already pre-cut for your vehicles body and the installation is simple and quick (<5 minutes for all 4 corners).

I've got WeatherTechs front and rear. The company seems really great to work with. I received one defective rear flap, and the company replaced the entire rear set with no hassle. I only have 265s, and they provide plenty of protection for me.

I agree, as I didn't use the WeatherTech generic bright stainless hardware (still in the bag below) and replacing them with spare M6 fasteners that I had in my garage, internal torx, black, actually they are new OEM Ford Motor Company fasteners with M6 nuts but look much better than the WeatherTech fasteners. Here's some pics, front and rear that I used them on.

thanks for the comments! i have a can of flat black spray paint so the fasteners can easily be camouflaged.

from y'alls comments i think weathertech might be the best for me. i'll definitely look into the 3m film once i get them

i'm just not a fan of the bowtie on the rear GM flaps. i could spray them flat black, but i think the no drill part of the weathertechs sold me.

I also put a strip of the 3M double sided tape on the rear mud flaps so they stick to the body also, read some complaints elsewhere that they may shift around. I also put a strip of rubber tape on the brackets that clinches the inside of body flange on the rear mud flaps, as I wasn't too pleased how the WeatherTech no-drill mechanism bracket is knurled to bite into the paint.

I agree that the no-drill attachment was my deciding factor also. Not being entirely knowledgable why GM has the self tapping screws for the rear, but I mentioned that to the folks who take care of them, and not like I'm hinting where I may work...

Cheers,

Mike

PS.. for the front flaps, if you want to use a nut and bolt arrangement for both lower fastening points, WeatherTech doesn't supply fasteners for both lower attachment points and the original wheel liner plastic push-pins are on your truck are too short, so you may want to get another pair of the nut and bolt fasteners, and to get access to the nut on the backside, you need to open the front doors of the truck and pull back the insulation to get a socket on the nuts, I'm not sure why WeatherTech didn't think of this... I also had to trim the front factory wheel liners, as they hung down too long about 1/4" not allowing the mud flap to be fully seated to the body.

Just an fyi... rather a photo of the GMC ones I got from the dealership. Cost was about $15 a set.

i like those over the other chevy ones i posted, do they make them with a Chevy emblem?

edit: found it, w/o emblem is PN 19213392, w/ bowtie is PN 19213393, and w/ GMC logo is PN 19213394

did yours come with mounting hardware? did you have to trim anything since they're considered "universal"
