My truck wouldn't start tonight...hmm

So i go out to fire up the beast this evening....turn the key and nothing. Battery on good volts, everything checks good, nothing. Looked under the hood etc etc etc...progressively getting more and more pissed. Finally i decide it's probably the starter...so i get under to whack the sucker one and low and behold my starter power lead was loose...#### near all the way off, just hangin by like two threads....YOU TALK ABOUT PISSED TO COME OUT AND THE MOTHER JUST WON'T DO ANYTHING. At least I was at home and not on a date or something, I just can figure how in the #### the starter came undone... Just wanted to vent.

Did you say the starter itself was falling off, or just the wire?

Our F550 PSD did the same one time at a job. Turned out to be a loose connection on one of the batteries. It wouldn't turn over fast enough on one battery.

Thankfully it was only the power lead to the starter and not the actual starter. It's not real easy to see or get to the nut, i'm just glad I didn't lose the nut entirely.....I don't know what would have caused it to just loosen up. The thing that got me was I haven't even ever had the slightest bit of indication there could be a malfunction...for as loose as it was I would be hard pressed to believe it just did that overnight. I know better than to think someone was messing with it....The only place it stays parked is in my driveway protected with a .45 desert eagle and on base while I'm up flying......So I haven't the foggiest idea. My blood pressure is much better now that I have no mo problems.....and to make myself even happier I bought my new flowmaster 40's and a lower airdam billet grille. :thumb:
