Diy Need To Replace Lower Ball Joints 97 K1500 Suburban

Recommended Posts

I have replaced the upper and have tried to replace the lower. A guy at the shop said a pin needed to be tapped out before the ball joint could be removed. I could not find any pin to tap out. I rented a lower ball joint C-clamp remover/installer but I could not get the ball joint to move, the joint C-clamp tool was bending. My next though is to remove the lower A arm and take them to a shop to press them out.

Is there a pin to take out?

Should I take the lower A arm off and have the old pressed out and new pressed in?

Is it very hard to remove the lower A arm from the torsion bars.

I am just missing something?

Thanks
