Avoid it! It will cause a ton of other problems. That engine was made to use a EGR and it needs it. Everyone I talk to that has done it or worked on a 6.0 with an EGR delete has had problems. High cyl. temps, emission problems, and premature engine failure. Dorman products makes a good EGR kit for these that has all the gaskets and orings needed to do the job. I have installed about 6 of them without a comeback......

Just my 2 cents.

hes already ordered an egr delete...needless to say its kind of out of my hands now, its quite sad that ford could produce an engine on par with herpes and then sweep it under the rug like it was nothing....leaving used vehicle buyer's wallets being bent over

Southern California and you want to delete the EGR? I guess if you keep all of the parts so you can re-install it every 2 years for a smog check you might get away with it. We have smog checks, you know...

I think you'll have to go to Arizona to get it done by a shop; pretty sure it's illegal for any shop in California to delete the EGR.
