How Big Can I Go Without Rubbing?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, have a 2006 Sierra Z71 stock all the way and want to buy new tires and rims and was wondering how much bigger can I go without a lift and without rubbing when turning? Also if I decide to lift 2-4 inches what do you recommend, body lift or suspension lift? I know you may have heard these questions many times before I really appreciate you helping me out... Thank you all for your time and generous knowledge.

You can run 265's if you don't change a thing. You can run 285's if you crank about 2" out of your torsion bars. Performance accessories or Zone both make a nice 3" body lift that include the rear bumper brackets. And finally... it depends on how much money you want to spend and what your overall needs are. If you want to just run a larger tire, a body lift gets the job done. If you want more ground clearance for offroading, then a suspension lift is the way to go. Either one can be added and added without wasting money. :)
