Who has dual 40 series Flowmasters on th might 6.0

Recommended Posts

I'm gonna rip off the old magnaflow and go with something that sounds a little less airy and more burly. :puke: Anybody have dual 40 series, maybe 50 series, possibly soundclips?  I hear about resonance problems...to me those arent problems those are guys who probably shouldnt have dual exhaust in the first place.  Maybe i'm wrong...anyway, would love to hear what you have to say

I have duals with the Flowmaster 40 series on my truck...I reduced the 3"s to 2.5" to keep some backpressure and it sounds real good has a good throaty sound...it does cackle a little and I have 24" Megaphone tips on it...you'll be noticed and the truck will breath a lot better without a loss in low-end that straights give you.. IMO :puke:

No dice man.  I guess msn no likee.  Maybe you can post it on your page or on here...if not no worries.  I think that BDBWTE has me convinced on 2 40 Series.  I'd still be interested in hearing them.  I had thought of just goin will glasspacks and saying the #### with it.  Thanks for trying.

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered new smooth ones.....from the 01' Suburban and had them painted to match...  They're about 35 bucks a piece plus an hour paint labor for the four...For the rear.....Couldn't find a smooth one, so I bought a new rough one and put a few coats of flexcoat sanded it down, and had them painted.  The install takes about 1 hr or so....

As for the bumper top, can't get it smooth either...did the same as the rear handle and had it painted.  I got sick of the wax residue on the textured parts-Looks much better IMO.
