Level Kit And Rear Blocks Installed

Recommended Posts

I got my leveling kit and rear blocks this past week and installed them on saturday. Going today to get an alignment. I went with the ready llift leveling kit and the 3" rear blocks from rough country.

After rear blocks installed

D.F.-34" D.R.-35.75" P.F.-34 1/8" P.R.-35 5/8"

So the 2.25" leveling kit actually gained a little bit more, but i'm sure it will drop a little bit after the alignment and such. Also I was somewhat suprized the rear end raised a little bit after putting in the front kit. As for installation it was fairly straight forward and really not to difficult. Infact I actually found it easier to get the top strut spacer on than I did the bottom spacer. That is backwards from what I thought it would be. Overall I am very pleased with the stance of my truck. I measured my brother in laws last generation GMC with a 4" lift on it and the measurement on his are only about and inch taller than mine. The measurement were taken from the bottom of the rim to the bottom of the fender.

Thanks guys, The plan is to eventually get some 33" trail grapplers, but my toyo A/T's are only are year old so it may be a while before bigger tires get put on. I'm also considering the cooper discoverer stt max.

Looks good....I went RC 2" on my front with 3" rear blocks and it sits even with a 2500HD. All I need to do now is wear out the tires so I can get permission from the wife to buy new ones :D

Turn off the traction control :)

Ha ha I'm in the same boat, but seeing as my current ones aren't that old/ don't have to many miles on them i don't see it happening. :D

Great write up and thanks for the pictures! I am contemplating the same lift from RC for my 2010 2500 hd. I need to get comfortable with ride quality and front suspension wear.

Just fyi, you'll want a different type of kit, because the 2500 hd's have torsion bars instead of coil springs. You can probably just get by with cranking your bars.

Well I talked to a local shop and I am scheduled to get a Ready Lift 2.5" key set for the front and 2" blocks for the back, also ordered Goodyear Duratrac 285 75 R16 (33"). I have seen some other 2500s leveled with this tire and hope the 2" back blocks maintain my rake. Currently my stock truck is 24" center rim to fender in front and 27" in back. Plan to get the transformation January 4th and will post pics. This pic is present state... Stock truck 245 75 R16 tires.

Glad I went with an added leaf spring, I too went to my local shop and they sell springs, he advised me if I wanted added support in the rear for hauling or trailer better off going with the spring vs. blocks.

Glad I did, they ride is a little bumpy, but not that bad.

2" lift in the rear vs. front

39" in front, 41" rear measuring from the ground to lip of fender
