Yukon Denali Electronic Shocks

Recommended Posts

So I purchased a 2003 Yukon Denali XL. Needs a lot of work. All standard stuff but its adding up fast. The one that really caught my eye is the $800 (per from the local NAPA) for the shocks.

So my question is can I just go with standard shocks from a Yukon. Skip all of the electronic ride leveling etc. This truck is primarily used as a daily drive back and forth to work (5 min drive) but 8-10 a year I will be using it to tow my Jeep and trailer to the trails, approximately 7500lbs trailer weight and aiming to have 500-800 lbs of tongue weight.

I'm considering air shocks that have the manual adjustment to help the rear coils out when heavily loaded. I only spent $4500 on the truck, don't really want to drop $1600 to replace the shocks.

Will I be able to disable the dash message telling me to service my suspension?

Try Arnotts for airride shocks. I think you can get all four (front and rear) for under a grand. Autoride is a great feature. I have it on my tahoe and my wife has it on her 05 yukon denali xl and wouldn't think of going through the hassle of getting rid of it to save a few dollars.

Thanks, once I got the jargon down (autoride etc) I found some good information on here. I've decided I'll at least see if the rest of the system works. If the TCM, compressor or other misc stuff is working then I'll get the after market air shocks. I'm used to driving Jeeps so with or without air ride this think will feel like a Cadi to me.
