2" Lift.....what Size Tires?

Recommended Posts

On my signature rig, if I do a 2" torsion bar lift, what would be the largest tires I could put on? It currently has LT245/75R16's and 10.5" clearance from tire to rear fender. Would it be better to trade my first born for a 4 or 6" lift kit?

285/75/16 will be the safest bet. Ive heard of some guys with HDs gettin 305/75/16s under a 2007 classic (GMT 800 body style) but I dont thik you can get that on a 900.

The rear is not where you have to worry. The clearance issues come from the front tire since it turns from side to side. Less backspacing and extreme offsets make these problems worse as well.

Although it is a Classic, the thought of 16's, make me cringe...lol

Well, converting the sizes for larger wheels is pretty easy. If you want to run a 305, you can get a 305/70/17, a 305/65/18, a 305/55/20, etc. For every inch you increase the wheel diameter, just decrease the sidewall ratio percentage by 5 and you will be close to the same size tire.
