I posted early about helping my buddy Clint put in a Jet chip  in his 2001 HD...Anyways we were riding in his truck yesterday on the expressway...He dropped the pedal and the motor revved out and then what sounded like detonation,   , was followed by the tranny deciding that 4 was to high of a gear and dropped to at least 2nd if not 1st I swear we broke traction at 60mph or so...anyways I'm just giving you guys a heads up on the Jet Performance Chips...I told him it's time to get a Superchip..... :thumb:

I had the Jet power module in my 97 Tahoe.  The first one they sent me had the SES light on right from the start no matter how many times I reset the PCM.  So I called their customer service, no questions were asked, the next day a new module had arrived (and they took the old one) and that evening I had the second one in.

5 years and 53,000 miles later, it performed flawlessly.  I took it out when I returned it to stock it when I turned it in this past July and you could notice the difference right away going back to stock.  It was considerably tamer.

Similar thing happened to my brother with his 97 Ram. He puked out 3 Jet chips in less then a year before he finally wised up enough to realize that he was never going to get one that worked the way it should. That's one of the prime reasons I'm leaning towards Superchips myself...

Had a Jet chip in a 95 burb.  No problems at all and it made that thing run super-sweet.  Just my $.02

I have one also.  It worked ok at first, a little off the line studdering, and around 40 mph in 4th gear, but I got some work done on it, and not it runs even better.  Definetly a difference...

Hey BDBWTE,

Are you the guy who said he was using a C clamp to try to get the cover back on the PCM box? That might have something to do with the problem! :puke:

oh come on like GM didn't realize that use in their design of the brain box...

Hey I say shadetree mechanic work and repairs are the way to go. I do most of my work myself, with the exception of the high-performance diesel work.  If it's cheap and it works, why go to a dealer to get raped on the price?

I resemble that remark.... :puke:
