People That Abuse Dealer Plates

its true, i've called the police multiple times...and the crowding will stop for a month or two and then its back to the same old shit...its hard for a police force of maybe 20 guys to go out of their way to write traffic violations when their is more pressing issues like drunk driving and drugs plagueing the area

i think the police is the same everywhere. I respect what they do, but if they spent half the time that they are out setting speed traps on the highway on bustink know dope dealers and criminals in town, it would be alot safer around here

hell I have even come home from work to find one of these punks has moved my trash cans on trash day onto my lawn, and thus the trash company doesn't collect from them because they are not on the curb and a vehicle is blocking there automated truck arm from reaching them..

that shit would piss me off. i suppose you just have to accept that college kids, in general, are dipshits. even so that would piss me off royally.

Haven't kicked in a window put have filled a truck bed, then had it towed. I could only imagine the odor of garbage, dog shit, and cat litter filled with urine and crap (we have 3 cats and a shepard/lab mix dog) after sitting in an impound lot in 90 degree September heat for a day or two.

Even got into a fist fight with one of the punks and poured the trash can over his head after beating his ass (he spit on my wife when she saw him move the can and said something to him). Cops cited him for littering too which was amusing.

I am from an area that has a LOT of tourists between april and september (Destin, FL) and I always think it's kinda funny when I see people down here on vacation and they are in an escalade or some other 50k+ vehicle with a "dealer" plate.

Seems like if you drive a brand new vehicle for 2-3k miles for a vacation the hit you're going to take on depreciation wouldn't be worth it but what would I know?

for the price people will pay for a used car you would be surprised how depreciation really doesn't play much into it if you get a super good deal from the get go. I bought my 2011 Crew Cab for $21,199 BRAND new. used prices are a few thousand more than that.

laws change from state to state, its been awhile since i learned vehicle laws...i know these people aren't running a legit business, they only leave at night and both buldings where their hoopty lots were at, are vacant...so unless their selling to vampires i'm pretty sure they aren't really dealers anymore

Sounds like they are still dealers......just not CAR dealers :)

I have the same problem. I live in a small town in a new subdivision and the neighbor usually has 6 cars in the backyard of the house and at least 4 on the street and 2 or more in his driveway. Most of them have out of state plates that have MFG on them. Some have NO plates. The ones with plates, get them cycled from one car to another and the cars get cycled from in front of their house to somewhere else every couple of days. Cars come and go everyday. We do have a local ordinance that cars on the street have to be moved every 3 days or they can be towed. My college age kids have no place to park if they come to visit during the weekend. It's mostly annoying.

I don't like it that we have been told to make sure we are never close to their "extra" side yard gate that they use to take the vehicles out of the backyard and over the curb, but they are taking up all the curbside parking with these cars that aren't driven by their household except to move them AND they have a lot of nonhousehold people coming and going with cars. It looks like they are selling cars that are parked in front of the house at the curb but the cars don't have price tags on them. Many of these cars are worth over $60K each. I don't look forward to criminals from elsewhere coming here to help themselves. I moved away from that kind of neighborhood when I came here.

What they're doing seems similar to a dealership that my friend worked at. She said the owners would fly to Chicago and buy cars at auction, then bring them to the West Coast to sell. None of the cars ever had a clear title but she would have to get new temporary registration for each untitled car whenever they expired. Most of their customers (usually pimps) would trade in cars about every 3 months for another car with no clear title.
