Don't know know how it works for you, but from what I've seen I doubt that would have any impact on the 'gaters round these parts! :D

actually it seems to work pretty well, which surprises me as well. cars won't even "close the gap" at red lights they stay a good car length back.. Not all and not all the time, but I would say above 70% as compared to not having them on the car..

I understand what you're saying (I heard ya the first time... :( ) . I'm just saying good luck with that driving through Richmond, VA.

lol, i gotcha.. are the drivers in Richmond worse than the ignorant slabs that drive in Los Angeles? Personally never been to VA, but I have found that the Drivers here are far worse than AZ, IL, PA, and NYC (Specifically NYC), though NYC runs a damn close tie to L.A.

Can't see the pictures here at work but do you have them in English and Spanish? Here in Texas you would have to have them in at least that for most of the people to understand.

American English is my language, I live in the USA to wit English is the language of the formal Government, there no requirement for me to provide notification in any language other than English.

They are OSHA Approved warning signs that are in the required non-language Symbology; if someone can't figure it out, rear ends me and blows themselves up rupturing a tank, then all I have to say is it sucks to be them, I've met the requirements to cover liability on my end, it is not my responsibility to make sure that someone not smart enough to learn the native language of the country they are in understand them.

I'm not debating us being in America or the point of English being the formal language (don't want to get started down that road). I was more making the point that most people where I live would just think they are funny pictures. Seems like there are more non-English speaking people here then English speaking and don't even get me started on the amount of illegals.

sorry I wasn't directing that at you, just in general.

the OSHA plaques are in Symbology, like the "Walk" / "Don't Walk" flashing hand and picture of man walking signs now, they are designed to be "universal", so basically if someone doesn't understand them it's their problem, my only requirement is to provide them, not be sure the dumbasses of the world understand them..

and in all honesty my having them won't stop a moron from being a moron, but it will protect my interests if said moron gets injured as a result of their lack of ability to follow directions, where without them, I could then be sued to pay for said morons injuries even though he was the moron that caused his own injuries.

Lame :D

And even if they are required which I doubt they are I guarantee you don't need them that massive. 4" at the most on a passenger vehicle.

I've never been told at the bulk gas suppler I need massive stickers to pick up a tank of welding gas..

8" x 8" is the minimum size requirement in CA, and as stated, they are required by law if transporting a filled and open Oxygen Container, I can be cited, I can be held liable in an accident even if I am not at fault, and I can be arrested for transportation of hazardous materials without proper identification plaques..

I cleared this with my local Highway Patrol office when I was made aware that my mother would need this tank for the rest of her life.

yes the large 18x12 sign on the left is not required, that was me deciding to scare the frack out of tailgaters, and it works, but the only get used when transporting my mother, otherwise they get removed.

and yeah it is lame looking, but in order to protect my interests I will choose to abide by the State Requirements here in the Retarded Republik of Kornifornia your state laws may differ.. but as I understand here I can also be cited or held liable if transporting a BBQ Propane tank without proper plaques on the vehicle, but again this is California, home of rape the citizens with fines and stupid laws..

Actually a majority of it isn't the Richmond Drivers, it's the tourists passing through I-95 is just about to us what the 405 freeway is to you. People going south from NY/NJ (Just calling it as I see it plate wise), people heading north from the Carolinas, and Georgia. Those folks sure know how to cause headaches out there! :D

I hate to bring this thread back up, but my friends and I were talking today about keeping tailgaters at bay and I remembered this thread. I would love to get one of these signs and put it on my truck to keep people away, but I'm not sure about the legality of this. Is it illegal to just stick one of these on without a reason? I can imagine that if I get in a wreck, the first responder is going to freak and in the end I'll be left with a hefty hazmat response bill on top of a fine.

if a car is tail gating me on the highway at night and there is a clear passing lane they can use and they dont . I just slam on the breaks a bit . and that makes them back off or pass yea . Have to remember if someone rear ends yea its there fault . A other tactic I use on a gravel road if someone wants to pass yea dont keep your same speed and let them slowy pass yea just to get some rocks in the wind shield . Slow right up and let them get pass you as soon as possible . way better chance not to get a broken windshield that way . Works great on mountain passes in the winter.

You get some brave people in small cars that just like to ride especially in rush hour when EVERYONE is going NOWHERE. You cant even tell they're back there especially in parking lots when I want to back in to a spot and realize someone tailgated me in. I like the break test idea but subjecting a $50k+ vehicle to that no matter whose fault is too brave for me.

I parked my truck at college and in class the window was facing my truck so I could see it . Just before the parking lot there is a wide corner and it was icey . Some stupid kid came ziping around the corner lost control . bounced off the wide corner curb and smashed into my truck . My truck was luckly parked on ice and when he hit it moved my truck a couple of feet and hit my back bumper. My truck was perfectly fine . I looked really hard for damage . there was a sumdge on the bumer and I whiped it off with my finger . I looked at his car and lol both lights gone and his car was smashed up a bit . I thought that was a good enough lession for him to slow down .
