Do New Keys Hurt More Than Turning Originals?

Recommended Posts

A local lift shop quoted me $20 to turn stock torsion keys to level or "2, but he also quoted me $300 for new re indexed keys and installation. I asked him about cranking stockers he said yea but they will stiffen up the ride and wear other parts faster. My question is if I can get "2 from stock and regardless new keys will give me that but also stiffen ride and wear parts at the same time, should I just go cheaper and get what I want from stock? Is he just trying to make a Buck off me?

Thanks

He is full of it. Leveling keys are a waste of money, unless your stockers won't allow for much adjustment, which can sometimes be the case. Safe yourself some money and crank your stock keys.

Right, If you do it yourself make sure you jack the front wheels off the ground, 3-4 full turns in will give you about 2" anymore turns wont give you anymore lift just a real hard ride

Yep, he just trying to make $300 bucks. Just crank your stockers, it does the same thing as new keys, the new keys just allow you to go higher, which isn't good anyway. 2" is about the limit.
