Will A Lift Void My Warranty?

Recommended Posts

I am tossing around the idea of a 6" lift. I was just wondering if it will void my Warranty on the truck. Also with a 6" lift still need to be leveled out in the front?

Thanks.

My warranty is still ok. I asked my dealer and he checked and came up with the lift I have as being fine with GM. He said something about pinon angle and drive shaft angle being part some of what they look for. Also my lift keeps the stock suspension up front just spaces it down. I just had a speed sensor done on the 2nd under warranty. The only thing the service manager said I might get crap on is the U-joints.

My lift leveled the truck its a 6 inch in the front and a 4 inch in the rear I believe.

^^^^ my dealer said basically the same thing..

the warranty on the suspension parts the lift replaces is void of course, not GM parts.. the only other thing my dealer warned me about is the u-joints and the upper ball joints, possibly having warranty coverage denied..

as far as the rest, basically if you have a good relationship with your service guys they won't trip on it..

keep in mind that the magnuson-moss law covers you for the most part, while they can deny warranty coverage on related suspension parts, they cannot deny warranty on unrelated parts without proving the lift caused the failure.. for example they can't deny warranty on a water pump because of the lift..
